Frequently Asked Questions


1. Do the students have to take class from a particular school to be in the company?
No. They do however need to take class at a board approved school.

2. How many classes a week are the students required to take to be in the company?
The students are required to take at least two ballet classes a week. Most of the students take the required two as well as an extra ballet class and modern. The apprentice group is the exception. These are our younger students and they usually take one modern and one ballet class or two ballet classes. Ballet classes are a must to participate in the company.

3. Are dancers required to take class in the summer?
We require that our students take the summer intensive week that we offer or at another approved intensive. We strongly encourage summer classes!

4. How many rehearsals will the dancer be required to attend?
Dancers are required to be at all rehearsals. The are allowed to miss two per semester. We rehearse every weekend from October - December for the Christmas Ballet . We start rehearsing for our spring show in late January- mid March.

5. How often does the company perform?
The dancers are required to perform in the Christmas Ballet and the Spring Show. We have many other opportunitioes to perform during the year. This is on a volunteer basis. (See our performance link)

6. Can anyone be in the company?
No. Dancers must audition. Auditions are held at the end of summer intensives.

7. If I am just moving into the area, can I audition if it is during the year?
Yes. You must contact the director to set up a private audition.
